A parliament of ravens

Catherine Clover

My audiovisual installation practice uses field recording, digital imaging and the spoken/written word to explore the human animal relationship in the urban environment. Current work focuses on common noisy wild urban birds through a framework of everyday experience – the ordinary and the quotidian. Ideas about communication within species and across species are addressed through voice and language and the interplay between hearing and listening – the vocal, the spoken – and seeing and reading – the visual, the written. Recent projects include Invisible Places Sounding Cities Symposium Selection Panel and Listening Room Viseu Portugal, Mid-morning, mild, some clouds Art in Public Places Newport Melbourne, Now Hear This Melbourne Now National Gallery of Victoria Melbourne
